After the Rs1500 Crore Baahubali, now the cine world in India is gearing up to produce a film for Rs 1000 crore as investment. Baahuali was produced for about Rs 500 crore and earned about Rs 1500 crore in a month after the release.
Now one can understand what the producers would be expecting after an investment of Rs 1000 crore. The 2.0 movie of Shanker and Rajiniknath is gearing up for release in about 15 languages in maximum number of the screens on the same day. Now we have to wait and see how much will Rajini collect. After this the new movie will set the targets.
The Rs 1,000-crore mythological epic based on M. T. Vasudevan Nair’s Randamoozham will be named after the novel in Malayalam, but it will be Mahabharata based on Randamoozham in other languages. The shooting of the film will begin in Abu Dhabi in May next year, producer B.R. Shetty said in Abu Dhabi .
He said elaborate sets will be erected in the Gulf emirate for the shooting of the multi-lingual project in which Mohanlal will play the lead. “We will even create a forest,” Dr Shetty said. “I didn’t come here with money; so every dirham and fils was earned here in Abu Dhabi for the last 43 years,” he said, explaining why he chose the location for the film, to be directed V. A. Sreekumar Menon. “This is my way to pay it back to this country.”
