Hiranyakashyap was officially announced by Rana at Comic-Con. Spirit Media, the actor’s production company, will be bankrolling the project.

Hiranyakashap was first announced with Gunasekhar the director. But after Shakunatalam, Rana changed his mind and given the project to Trivikram Srinivas.
Rana is going with a new script and budget for the movie with Trivikram. Gunasekhar has lost his goodwill due to Shakunthalam.
Earlier he has given a flop called Varudu to Allu Arjun also.
