The Telangana government will distribute 4.50 lakh gift packages (clothes) to the poorest of the poor and conduct an Iftar dinner at 815 mosques throughout the State in connection with the holy month of Ramzan 2024.
“The gift packets will be distributed in 448 mosques across the GHMC limits. They include two mosques in each GHMC ward, four mosques in each of 24 Assembly constituencies, 16 mosques in Secunderabad Cantonment and 19 mosques of Shia, Mehedvia and other orphanages,” informed Advisor to Telangana Govt Mohammed Ali Shabbir.
Iftar would be hosted for 500 people in each of these 448 mosques, covering about 2.24 lakh people. In the rest of the State, other than the GHMC area, an Iftar Dinner will be hosted, and gift packages will be distributed in 367 mosques/locations. Therefore, the Iftar Dinner and distribution of gift packets will be made in 815 mosques across Telangana State.
The conduct of Dawat-e-Iftar and distribution of gift packets (clothes) throughout the State, as well as the Chief Minister’s Iftar Dinner, will be done under the supervision of a high-level committed headed by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka as Chairman and Advisor to Government (SC, ST, OBC & Minority Welfare) Mohammed Ali Shabbir as Vice Chairman. Senior officials, including the Principal Secretary of GAD, Special Secretary to the Minority Welfare Department, Commissioner of Minorities Welfare, GHMC Commissioner, and Police Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda, are the other committee members.
