Media Baron Ramoji Rao wrote a letter to Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao praising the latter’s efforts in promoting Telugu language. VP Venkaiah also praised KCR.
In his letter, Ramoji appreciated the efforts of KCR for taking the initiative in making the Telugu language compulsory for all classes up to Class 12.
He went a step ahead and even advised the Chief Minister to also make Telugu mandatory for recruitment to government posts.
Ramoji said though the previous governments had made a lot of noise over promoting Telugu language, none could dare to make it compulsory for all.
“Thankfully, you reacted at the right time and took the right decision to revive the past glory of our mother tongue. This would be a major leap in restoring Telugu language and encouraging it among the next generation,” he said.
Ramoji also urged the Chief Minister to make the Telugu language mandatory for administrative work, which would lead to an extensive use of Telugu language among public and thus ensure a prominent place for the mother tongue in Telangana state.
