After Amitabh Bachchan, It is Rajinikanth who is very popular in the BJP circles. Amitabh was the Brand Ambassador for Gujarat for a long time and Prime Minister Modi gives him all the respect.
After that Modi, the PM met Rajinikanth and sought his support during the 2014 lections. There was also a talk that Rajini would join the BJp so on and so forth. But later Rajini Kanth floated his own party.
Now people say that there could be an alliance between Rajini and BJP in the near future. But for the time being, he is awarded as the Icon of the Golden Jubilee in film festival to be held in November this year.
He would be felicitated with this award at the International film festival. Minister Jawadekar has tweeted the same. On the other hand Rajinikanth supported the line of BJP openly several times and endorsed the Prime Ministers views also.
But politically, there is a long way to go for Rajinikanth. His friend Kamal Hassan has lost miserably in the elections. Chiranjeevi the megastar from Telugu states suggested not to enter politics with his bad experience.
Rajini is yet to react on the award announced to him by the central Government.
