While Kamal said no to films after politics, Rajini is still signing films along with politics.
The latest is that Rajinikanth will act in a film directed by young filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. Karthik, known for films like Iravi, Pizza and Jigarthanda, will be teaming up with Rajinikanth for the first time and will be a lifetime experience for the filmmaker.
Kalanithi Maran owned Sun Pictures will be bankrolling the film which is yet to be titled. The producers took to Twitter today and made the official announcement.

The makers are contemplating releasing a teaser of Kaala on March 10 much to the joy of fans of Thalaivar.
