Director SS Rajamouli took to Twitter to post a video which shows him appealing to Kannadigas to allow the release of the second half of his magnum opus- Baahubali the conclusion part – 2 – in Karnataka on April 28.
Rajamouli’s video message to people in Karnataka – says“Namaskar to all. I am not fluent in Kannada, so if I make a mistake, please forgive me. My producers and I wish to give a clarification regarding Sathyaraj’s comments.
He made those comments many years ago and that may have offended many. But we have no connection with the remarks that were his personal views. He made the remark 9 years ago. Since then, a number of films in which he had acted were released in Karnataka.
Even Baahubali Part 1 had released. Sathyaraj is not the director or the producer of Baahubali. He will not be at a loss. However, the repercussion of the protest will affect many others who are associated with the film. I request you to allow the release of the film. Heartfelt thanks. Namaskara.”Baahubali: The Conclusion, the film has once again landed itself in a fresh controversy.

According to reports, over 2000 pro-Kannada groups led by Vatal Nagaraj are threatening the release of Baahubali 2 following actor Sathyaraj’s controversial speech during the Cauvery row. For the same, the group has demanded Sathyaraj to apologise to Kannadigas before the release of the film.
Speaking about the issue, Vatal Nagaraj was quoted as saying, “We will not allow any theatre in Karnataka to screen Bahubali. We are not against the film, but against Sathyaraj who plays the character of Katappa in Bahubali.”
Several groups, including the President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and Dr Rajkumar Fans Association, have showed their support to Nagaraj.

KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu said, “Till now neither the actor nor the producers have approached the Chamber to discuss the issue. Unless the actor apologises, the screening will not take place in Karnataka. He has insulted Kannadigas.”
Katappa, the slave warlord, is one of the important characters in Baahubali. In fact, after the stupendous success of Baahubali, the most sought-after question is: Why Katappa killed Baahubali?
Baahubali 2 has been dubbed in Kannada after the members of the Kannada Grahakara Okkoota (KGO) urged the Kannadigas to support their cause for a Kannada dubbed version of Baahubali 2.The film is slated to release on April 28 this year.
