In a major boost to the game of Chess, Raja Rithvik has become youngest “International Master” from Telangana State. He has achieved prestigious “IM Title” in Paracin Open Tournament–2018 at Paracin City of Serbia Country in Europe.
One of the country’s best talents, R.Raja Rithvik, studying 10th class in Orchids International School, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, got the prestigious title of “International Master” by crossing the required milestone of “Rating Points of 2400” in Paracin Open Tournament – 2018.
While participating in this tournament with live rating of 2381 (needing 19 points), Raja Rithvik has achieved 28 elo points by defeating the England Grand Master Fernandez Howard and drawing the games with other two senior Grand Masters Atalik Suat of Turkey and Lorpariz Shahin of Iran.
In this tournament, Raja Rithvik has scored 5 points out of 7 rounds. During this tournament, Rithvik, who is having live International Rating of 2381, has gained 28 points and increased his rating to 2409.
Around 150 players including 15 Grand Masters and 30 International Masters from more than 25 countries such as Russia, USA, England, Netherlands, Vietnam, India, China, Malaysia, Thailand etc have participated in this tournament. In the 5th round, while playing with white pieces with his favourite “Reti Opening”, Rithvik has created a sensation by defeating the reputed England Grand Master Fernandez Howard in 38 moves.
With this achievement, the child prodigy, Raja Rithvik has created history by becoming the youngest International Master from Telangana at the age of 14 years and 2 months only. Rithvik is the 5th International Master from Telangana.
The other four International Masters from Telangana are M.Chakravarti Reddy (has become IM at 17 years), Harsha Bharathakoti (IM at 17 years), Rahul Srivastav (IM at 16 years), Erigaisi Arjun (IM at 14 years, 6 months). Raja Rithvik, is being trained under Mr. N.V.S. Rama Raju, a reputed coach from Hyderabad.
