MNS chief Raj Thackeray has slammed Salman Khan for supporting Pakistani artistes, saying he was only concerned about his movies doing well in that country. He opined that Salman was bothered about Pakistan film business rather than the lives of the solidiers.
Thackeray, whose party had issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Pakistani artistes last week, said these actors had refused to condemn the Uri attack.
“Is there a dearth of talent in India that we need to borrow artistes from Pakistan? These people are only concerned about their movies doing well in Pakistan… The bullets that our soldiers face are real, they are not filmy,” Thackeray told .
Raj said that if Salman takes a bullet he will stand up again, as it is in a movie. But in real life the soldiers on the border are taking real bullets for guarding us. Let Salman know the reality he said. There is no dearth of actors in India, why should we need people from Pakistan he questioned. This hue and cry has no meaning and they just mean business he said.
Salman said that Pakistani artistes are not terrorists and they come to India with proper visa and work permit. The tension between the two nations has resulted in the cancellation of Pakistani singers Shafqat Amanat Ali and Atif Aslam’s concerts in Bengaluru and Gurgaon.
Indian Motion Picture Producers Association has also passed a resolution to ban Pakistani actors from the industry. However, they said the ban will not affect the films ready to release.
