Rains red alert for Hyderabad

While Hyderabad gears up for more rain, the northern districts of Telangana are expected to bear the brunt of the upcoming weather system.

The musi river, Gandipet, and Himayathsagar are overflowing. A red alert has been sounded for Hyderbd by the weather department.

Hyderabad was hit by heavy rain this morning. The roads are underwater while the schools are closed for the day.

The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mancherial, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, and Wanaparthi for Monday.

There were showers last night and this morning also. Traffic snarls are being witnessed across the city of Hyderabad. There are rains for one more day in the Telugu states.

The residents can expect a drop in temperatures as the city braces itself for another day of wet weather. Rain lashed several parts of Hyderabad this morning, bringing temperatures further down in the city, which was witnessing sultry weather conditions.

Showers brought much-needed relief from the intense heat.
