Offices and schools were closed in Mumbai as there was no respite from the rain. Chief Minister Fadnavis has said that the rains are expected for the next two days and has advised people to stay indoors. Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray said that no government on earth can tackle a rain of 375 mm. Its unpredictable and natures fury, it will take some time for the authorities to bring the situation to normalcy he said.
This can be said as the heaviest rain in the decade overnight in Mumbai. So far 27 people have died due to rains.

The district collectors are touring the affected areas to help needy people. Trains were disrupted in many areas. The water is being pumped in many areas, but there are no proper drains to take the water.
The main runway of the Mumbai airport has been shut. High tides are witnessed at Worli in the Sea.
Trains are functioning in some areas but there is a delay of about 30 minutes beyond Thane.
The Government has declared a Holiday in Mumbai, but the people came out as they were not aware. The NDRF teams are working round the clock to rescue people from different areas.
Almost all the areas and roads are flooded in Mumbai. 375 mm rain is very abnormal and any sort of preparedness will not help. Heavy rain was predicted by the Officials on 5th and 6th of July. The rain has submerged the roads, and people including the BMC workers are walking under knee-deep waters.
