Heavy rains lashed several parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad throwing normal life out of gear last night. Many areas were underwater on Thursday and some vehicles were washed away in the rainwater.
Many areas in Hyderabad area filled with rain water and the GHMC has rushed emergency teams to clear the waer logging.Many drains are overflowing.
The cellars of the buildings in the low-lying areas were filled with rainwater. Though there were reports of rainwater leaving villages marooned and inundating roads and residential areas in several towns, the worst affected was the Bhainsa town in the Nirmal district.
Osman Sagar and Himayatsagar received heavy inflows and water was being let out by lifting the gates.
Auto Nagar and Rahul Nagar localities in particular were flooded after water was released from the Gadenna Vagu project.
A heavy rain forecast was also given to Telangana, with IMD issuing a yellow alert to the entire State for the next three days.
A few districts also received heavy showers on with Duggondi in Warangal recording the highest rainfall at 113.5 mm, followed by Dudyal at Vikarabad at 42.3 mm and Laxmidevipeta at Warangal at 37.3 mm.
