The NSUI activists and students set the rail engines, parcel vans and rai bogies on fire this morning against the Agnipath army recruitment going on in the country.
Parcels were thrown on the rail bogies and they were gutted by the agitators. Around two thousand students participated in the agitation here at the Secunderabad railway station.
The police fired in the air to drive away from the students. The passengers rain away from the platforms leaving their luggage behind. There was a gross intelligence failure here in Secunderabad.
CRPF, the Rapid action force and the railway police were rushed to the railway station to bring the situation into control. The fire was brought into control in an hour’s time.
The East Coast Express and Shalimar express were set o fire. The shops on the platform were also damaged by the agitators. The police could not prevent the students from setting the trains on fire.
Some students were injured and one of them died in the police firing it is reported.
