Perhaps for the first time the Vice President of the Congress party did the job of the President .
It looks like even though Rahul Gandhi was a failure at the polls, there is no other way but to take the highest post in the party. Walking in the foot steps of his mother Rahul Gandhi for the first time hoisted the party flag at the headquarters of the Congress to mark the foundation day. There is no other escape but to take the responsibility on to his shoulders.
At the same time for the first time in the absence of his mother and the party Chief Sonia Gandhi he addressed the gathering of the Top Congress leaders here . Here Rahul Gandhi exhorted that the Congress was the synonym for the sacrifices and also tolerance. He said that the Congress leaders have all the patience and will work for the welfare of the people.
Congress means listening to others, Congress is for helping others, reaching out to all. It will give scope for others to put forth their point of view he said. Most of the leaders listened to him with rapt attention .
Rahul opined that the currency ban is for helping the rich who were in few numbers and looting all the poor in the broad day light.Note ban or no ban the rich have no issues and they are prepared he opined. The common man is the worst sufferer he stated.
Condemning Modi Rahul said “The aim is to run a government of select few, take away the money from the poor and give it to a select few. Spread fear and anger and rule on that basis.
We have shown that questions have been raised on Modiji and there are charges on him. He should answer these questions,” he said.
Congress party is for sharing pain and of sharing emotions. This idea says that you are not alone. They gave a name to that idea and called it Congress,” the party Vice President said.
