The Congress party is organising an Iftar on June 13 inviting prominent political personalities and Muslims for the party. But no invitation has been extended to former President Pranab Mukherjee and also former Vice President Hamid Ansari apart from the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
This is purely political. The Congress party did not like the idea of Prnabda the senior Congressman going to RSS headquarters and accepting their hospitality. They even did not like the way Pranab praised Hedgewar the founder of RSS at his memorial. The Iftar is being organised at Taj Palace. After a gap of two years, the Congress party is organising the Iftar party especially after tasting power in Karnataka.
When it comes to Pranab not being invited, earlier Ahmed Patel on the diktat of Sonia Gandhi tweeted that this was not expected from Pranabda. But others opined that Pranab has shown the mirror to the RSS and there was nothing wrong in his speech. The Congress is unable to digest the way Pranab is being projected as an alternative to Modi for the 2019 elections.
