This happens to be the most ancient Arjitha Seva that is being observed in the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara. The same was replicated in Hyderabad.
The Abhishekam started with holy water followed by milk, then with curd, sandal, turmeric and other scented articles like powdered Pachcha Karpooram, Saffron paste.
While performing the Abhishekam to the Moola Virat, Purshasukta, Narayanasukta, Srisukta, Bhusuktha, Neelasuktha and selected Pasurams from the Divya Pradbandham were all recited by the Veda Parayanamdars. Later, the Abhishekam was performed for the idol of Goddess Lakshmi on his chest with Turmeric Paste.
