Punjab Police A team dominated the proceedings on the final day of the 35th All India Police Equestarian championship which concluded at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy Hyderabad today.

In the tent pegging final, the Punjab team consisting of Jaswindar Singh (DSP), Laskhwinder Singh, Rahul Kumar and Gursharan Singh exhibited fine skills and were well supported by their horses – Sachin, Mastana, Pukhraj and Dharminder.

They outclassed others to entertain big crowds which had gathered to enjoy the event. Overall 11 teams made it to the final.

Kiran Bedi the former IPS officer, who is now the Lieutenant Governor of Puduchery graced the occasion as chief guest.

In her brief and sweet lecture she was all praise for Aruna Bahuguna, the director of NPA, Hyderabad.
“I an here for the first time as a chief guest and its a personal thrill to be part of this important occasion. I can’t forget this place, which is the motherland for many IPS officers. I am really happy that Aruna Bahuguna has invited me and I really don’t know the reason why it has taken 35 years for them invite me. Neverthless the way the academy is maintained here – all credit should go to Aruna Bahuguna and her team.”

“I always used to love horse riding during my earlier days and horses teach us courage and discipline. I have really enjoyed the proceedings here today and wish them”.

Overall 18 teams from nook corner of India took part in this successfully organised 10-day event.
