Priyanka Gandhi was given the responsibility of 44 seats in Uttar Pradesh for the coming parliament elections 2019. Her entry into politics has created a buzz across the political circles but the future depends on how many seats she would get for the party. Priyanka was given an office beside her brother’s room. But Scindia was also given space in the same room given to Priyanka. This is to show that all the AICC General secretaries are equal and that they are sharing the same space.
Yesterday at the office bearers meeting she was seen sitting by the side of Scindia and not with her brother Rahul Gandhi. Some BJP leaders called her as Surpanakha the sister of Raavan. They compared Rahul with Raavan.
But ignoring all this criticism, Priyanka is forging ahead and drawing battle lines for the BJP and other parties in UP.
The UP election would become an acid test for Priyanka and that will decide her future.
On the other hand, her husband is being grilled by the ED sleuths for hours together. On the second day, she dropped husband Vadra at the ED office. The Congress leaders compare Priyanka with Indira Gandhi the former Prime Minister and are hopeful that she would get a good number of seats for the party. Priyanka has that charisma like Indira, but one has to see if she can get the seats for the Congress party.
