The first time a President is stepping down on the issue of overspending it looks like. Ameenah Gurib Fakim the Mauritian President is all set to step down next week according to the Prime Minister of the country.
The mistake that the president did was spending huge amounts of clothes and jewellery on a credit card issued by a private organisation. It was not a card issued by the Government.
President Fakim will resign was the 50th anniversary of the country it is reported. PM Pravind also confirmed the same and the resignation of the President will be after March 12. This was announced to the media also.
Fakim was the islands first women president appointed in 2015. Fakim claimed that she did no mistake and that the issue was being raked up after a year or so. That is also on eve of the independence day.
