Preserve ancient Knowledge

Chief Justice of India Dr YV Chandrachud said it was the responsibility of all to pass on ancient knowledge embedded in palm leaf manuscripts by Maharshis and saints for thousands of years to future generations

The CJI of the Supreme Court visited the Palm leaf edicts digitisation project jointly organised by the TTD and Sri Venkateswara Vedic University. Earlier he went through the manuscripts library of the university comprising of ancient documents of Vedas, Agama Puranas, Nyaya and Darshan and the digitisation project and publications etc,

He said he was happy to witness the unique project of preserving valuable ancient manuscripts including those on Nyaya Shastra throwing light on legal systems, legal education and the theme objective of the Nyaya Shashtras.

The CJI called for a national mission for the preservation and digitisation of ancient palm leaf edicts for promoting research and publication which will impact humanity. He lauded TTD for setting up SVV university and the digitisation project of ancient edicts and was thrilled by listening to Veda mantra pathanam.

Earlier the CJI of the Supreme Court also offered prayers at the Srivari temple, Tirumala in the morning along with AP High Court chief justice Sri Dhiraj Singh Thakur and was given a ceremonial reception by Temple Archakas.
