Jaya is dead says Apollo- its official

Amma Jayalalithaa, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu who had a cardiac arrest Sunday evening, has died at 11.30 pm on Monday according to the press release issued by the Appollo Hospital. Earlier she was  on special support systems for her heart and lungs, said Apollo Hospital in Chennai, where she was admitted on September 22. The announcement was made at 12.12 midnight. Pannerselvam and also Venkaiah Naidu knew that Amma Jaya has expired. They left the hospital after confirming the news it is reported

In a series of tweets, Apollo said “She is on extracorporeal membrane heart assist device and is being treated by a team of expert doctors and critical care specialists.”

The hospital also said that a UK consultant who had flown down earlier to supervise the 68-year-old’s treatment has been consulted about the line of care being provided to her now.

Pray for Jayalalithaa says Apollo

Apollo Hospital also asked the public to pray for the politician’s urgent recovery.
Just this morning, Jayalalithaa’s party, the AIADMK, said that she was well and would soon decide when to return to her residence.

Extracorporeal life support is provided to a patient in need of cardiac and respiratory support. Since she was hospitalised in September, the Chief Minister has been in the care of lung specialists and cardiologists.
