The Congress party has put to rest for the rumours that Pranab Mukherjee the former President was not invited to the Iftar being hosted by the Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi. The Congress leaders clarified that Pranab Mukherjee is attending the Iftar meet.
The news about the Ifatr is that the Congress party has invited the AP CM Chandrababu after seeing his enthusiasm at the Karnataka government swearing-in ceremony. Babu is yet to clarify if he would be going to Delhi to attend the Congress Iftar. At the same time, the Congress party has not invited K Chandrasekhar Rao the Telangana CM for the iftar as he is floating a federal front against the Congress.
He also avoided the Congress leaders at the swearing-in by meeting Gowda one day ahead. The Congress is taking it as a show of strength again after the Bangalore meet and it would meet with all the like-minded party leaders and it like paving way for an alternative front against the BJP. Senior leaders like Mulayam, Lalu and Pawar were invited for the Iftar apart from some celebrities.
This will be first Iftar after the Congress Chief Rahul took over as the President of the party and they want to make it a grand success and are ensuring the attendance of the who is who of the Politics especially the heavyweights and the seniors.
