Praja Bhavan, which was the official residence of the Chief Minister of Telangana, will be occupied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and his family.
Orders to this effect were issued through a GO by the Chief Secretary to Government Santhi Kumari.
This bhavan was earlier occupied by former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family during the BRS rule.
Then called Pragati Bhavan, it comprises both the CM’s residence as well as his camp office.
However, after Revanth taking over as CM, the heavy iron barricades, obstructing the view of the palatial building and sprawling lawns, were removed symbolically indicating that it will cease to be a prohibited area.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy declared that the building would henceforth be called Praja Bhavan where Praja Darbar would be held every week.
