The central government has decided to update the list of the population in the country and that will be done via an App and no proof or document is required.
Union Ministers Piyush Goel Javdekar said that the population list was updated in 2010 and after 10 years it will be done in 2020 from April onwards.
It was done earlier by the UPA and the same tradition is being continued the Ministers added. Addressing the press meet after the cabinet meet, the Ministers said that the counting of the population will be done with the help of an App.
No paper is needed, no biometric and nothing of that sort. Just the individual has to update the information via an app on his own. About Rs 4000 crore has been allocated for the population list.
There need not be any doubts or apprehensions the Ministers added. Just register and forget they explained. No fingerprint is required they clarified.
