DGP Anjani Kumar informed that apart from organising Police Martyrs Memorial Day on October 21, Police Flag Day will be organised from October 21 to October 31.. He said that measures are being taken to involve citizens on a large scale in Police Martyrs; Day and Police Flag Day programs.
Many programs are being organized from October 21st to 31st. The DGP said that public awareness programs will be organized during these ten days on the services provided by the police to the public, the problems faced by them in the performance of duty and what other services people expect from the police.
He said that an open house program will be organized in every police station ofthe state and the efforts and services of the police department will be made known to the youth and citizens.
Essay writing and debate competitions will be organized for students and police officers at various levels to commemorate Police Martyrs Day. Essay competitions are being conducted for degree and post graduate students on the topic 'Role of police in curbing misuse of social media', he said. These competitions will be held in every district and zone. Essay competitions will be conducted for ASI, Head Constable and Constable level police officers in all units on the topic 'For Police – Work Life Balance', he said. Similarly, an essay competition for SI level officers on the topic 'Role of Police in maintaining gender equality in society' will be organised.
Senior police officials were told to visit the homes of police martyrs and try to find out their welfare and their needs and solve them. He said that photography competition and short video competitions will be organized on the topic of policing in the state. DGP also ordered to organize blood donation camps and cycle rallies. Police Flag Day Parade will be held on the 21st at the Gosha Mahal Stadium in Hyderabad.
