The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy is the premier Police Training Institute in the Country. It trains officers of the Indian Police Service, at the induction level and conducts various in-service courses for serving IPS Officers. It also organizes courses for other services and conducts seminars/ workshops on relevant and contemporary issues.
A total 149 officer trainees are taking part in the DIKSHANT PARADE on 12th November, 2021. Among them 132 IPS officer trainees and 17 Foreign Officer Trainees. There are 31 lady officers i.e. 27 IPS officer trainees and 4 foreign officer trainees.
73RR joined the SVP National Police Academy on 28.12.2020 after completing their Foundation Course at Lal Bahadur Shastry Academy of Administration, Mussoorie and with other services like IAS, IFS, etc. They completed 46 weeks of Phase-I Training at this Academy and will be proceeding to Delhi for attending 4 weeks attachments with various CPOs/ CAPFs and Army attachment followed by 29 weeks District Practical Training. 1
After completing their 29 weeks district practical training in their respective cadres/ states the batch will report at this academy for attending 12 weeks phase-II training commencing from 18th July, 2022 to 7th October, 2022.
In order to give them field exposure to appreciate the contemporary challenges in the field, the following attachments are arranged as part of Basic Course training: –
1. Attachment with Greyhounds, Telangana for exposure to the jungle operations including camping in the jungle;
2. Attachment with the Central School of Weapons & Tactics (CSWT) of BSF for exposure about the advanced weapons & explosives, 3. Attachment with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand to give exposure about the Left-Wing Extremism & internal security challenges in the country;
4. Election Attachment – With a view to observe and learn the election bandobast, to acquaint themselves with the mobilization and deployment of forces, how the security concerns are addressed and how efficiently and effectively the Civil & Police administration ensure free and fair poll
In addition to the above curriculum, special inputs are imparted in modular format on the following: –
(1) Module on Crime against Women and children
(2) Investigation simulation on heinous crimes, property crimes and NDPS cases
(3) Public Speaking Module .
(4) Information and communication technology simulations viz. CDR Analysis, Investigation of Internet Crimes, Mobile Phone Investigation, Dark Web, Block Chain & Crypto Currency, Social Media etc. (5) Riot control simulation
(6) Reflex Firing & Long-Range Firing
(7) Fire Safety Drill
(8) Special Tactics Modules Viz. Explosives, Jungle Tactics, Urban Tactics etc.
