Police command control ready for launch

The police command control centre will be launched by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here in Hyderabad. It will be operational from the fourth of this month.

The Command and Control Centre of Telangana police was constructed at Banjara Hills at a cost of around Rs 600 crores.

The centre, called ‘Police Towers’ will help the police monitor the state using a network of over 9.25 lakh CCTV cameras.

The building, which is in the middle of all the towers between the fourth and seventh floors in 40,000 sqft, consists of server racks, a huge double-height video call facility to monitor surveillance camera footage and a war room among other facilities.

The command centre has been designed to house technology teams working in back-end operations to support field policing. It will also act as a Disaster and Crisis Management Centre housing all the related government departments.

The data centre with Integrated Command and Control Centre is located in the middle of all towers from the fourth to seventh floors with an area of 40,000 sq ft. It consists of server racks, huge double-height video calls for surveillance camera footage and war room etc.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao laid the foundation stone for the towers in 2015. The building was designed as an environment-friendly project with a solar photovoltaic roof and integrated photovoltaic in the facade to produce clean and green electricity.

The edifice would act as a technology fusion centre and all the floors of the buildings were designed for housing technology teams working in the backend supporting field policing operations. It will also act as a Disaster and Crisis Management Centre housing all the related government departments.

This will house cross-functional teams from all the government departments for leveraging available technologies for rendering services at their end during normal times.

The building is in the neighbour of TRS Bhavan which is the power centre of the Telangana Government.
