Popular Film Director Puri Jagannadh was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The director arrived at the office today in Hyderabad as the central agency has begun questioning various Tollywood personalities in connection with a drugs case that rocked the South film industry four years ago.
Puri Jagannadh is among twelve other big names like Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet Singh, and others in Tollywood who are going to be quizzed in relation to the money laundering angle in the drugs case.
The Pokiri director arrived at the ED office.”The investigation was left by Akun Sabharwal who was transferred after the drugs case.
ED had issued notices to 10 Tollywood personalities last week. Besides Rakul and Rana, other actors like Ravi Teja, Charmee Kaur, Navdeep, and Mumaith Khan are set to appear before ED officials between August 31 and September 22.
Rakul Preet Singh and Daggubati Rana have been summoned on September 6 and September 8, respectively. During the investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department, the two actors were skipped from questioning. The ED has asked Ravi Teja to appear on September 9 and Mumaith Khan has also been summoned.
