K Chandrasekhar Rao the CM of Telangana has finalised Pocharam Srinivas Reddy for the post of speaker. Pocharam will be filing the nomination with the secretary of the Assembly. KCR has talked to all the parties and all of them agreed to support Pocharam Srinivas Reddy for the post of Speaker.With the Congress also agreeing to make the Speaker post unanimous, there will be no election.
Six proposals have been filed for the candidature of Pocharam. The first set of nomination papers for Pocharam was signed by CM KCR and seconded by Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka of Congress. All the parties are supporting the candidature of Pocharam. Pocharam was born in 1949.
Srinivas Reddy worked as the Minister for Housing. He also worked as Minister for Panchayat Raj. Pocharam actively participated in the Telangana movement. He resigned to TDP and joined the TRS to work under KCR.Pocharam will be the second speaker after Madhusudana Chary. Chary will be the first Speaker for the state of Telangana.
