PM Modi to visit train accident site

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today visit Odisha’s Balasore, where the horrific train accident claimed the lives of nearly 300 people and left more than 900 injured.

He will go to Bhubaneshwar by Chopper and then will reach the accident site.

According to the details, the prime minister will first visit the site of the train accident and will then visit the hospital in Cuttack, where the injured have been admitted.

The prime minister also convened a meeting to review the situation in relation to the Odisha train accident, government sources told.

The State Governments of Tamilnadu, West Bengal, AP are also sending teams for rescue operations. More than 5O ambulances are working day in and day out in transporting injured people.

The Coromandel Express by mistake entered the loop line and collided with the goods train. The other train came in the same track of the train and hit the derailed bogies.

The result is an accident between one goods and two passenger trains. The stranded passengers are being taken to their respective destinations in special trains by the Railways.

It looks like there is no Kavach technology in this area on these trains. The Kavach tech should have stopped eh trains before the accident.

The technology was acquired at a cost of 4OO crore. Both the state and central agencies are working in the rescue operations.
