The BJP is scouting for a safe seat for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi is right now representing Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. This time he may shift to Puri Odisha. They are considering Puri as the safe seat.

With the graph of the NDA and Modi going down to some extent, the BJP leaders and the core team have identified Puri for this 2019 election.

The BJP parliamentary committee will meet and chalk out the strategy to see that Modi would get elected from Puri. Earlier the sitting PM PV Narasimha Rao also contest from one of the constituencies of Odisha which is on the other side of the Andhra Border.

The Constituency is Berhampur which is on the other side of AOB. If Modi contests from Odisha, he will become the second sitting PM to contest from that state.

There is a talk that the BJP might lose significantly from the state of Uttar Pradesh this time. So the BJP has started for scouting the seats from South and other states where the opposition may not concentrate much. Right now the Congress is concentrating heavily on UP.
