The BJP under Modi and Shah now have no other option but to fall back on the seniors in the party. It may be noted that the image of the party has got eroded in the recent elections and to win back the credibility Modi has decided to get back to the senior man Advani. Both Prime Minister Modi and the BJP chief Amit Shah met Advani at his home and suggested him to contest the next elections in 2019. Even Murali Manohar Joshi was suggested by the BJP top brass to contest the elections.
This is one way of showing the people that the seniors were respected in the party.
Some people say that in the name of the third front, leaders like Mamatha are putting Pranab Mukherjee forward and now the BJP has started thinking about Advani the man who struggled all through his life for the party.
Now the age factor is being ignored in the BJP after they made Yeddyurappa as the CM of Karnataka. Now it is the turn of Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi.
Narendra Modi has come to a conclusion that he alone cant steer back the party to power in 2019 elections and he has to fight in a united manner with the seniors and others put together. Earlier they wanted to put some age restriction so on and so forth, but they have come to a conclusion that in politics age should be ignored and that credibility, popularity matters. We need numbers and winning should be the criteria.
