The image of Modi the PM of India is intact when compared to the leaders of other countries. PM Narendra Modi had the highest approval rating among the thirteen global leaders surveyed last week as well, according to Morning Consult’s data.
However, in June this year, his approval rating has dipped to 66 per cent. This was nearly a 20-point dip from August 2019 when his rating stood at 82 per cent.
At 70 per cent, PM Modi is ahead of Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has the lowest disapproval rating among adults. Of the adults surveyed in India, 25 per cent disapproved of him.
Surveys in each country are weighted by various factors like age, gender, and region. In a few countries, even education breakdowns are also used to weigh the surveys.
