Chai is the trademark for PM Modi and his life. When he was on a roadshow in Varanasi, Modi stopped at the adda of Pappu Chai wala. Pappus’s son Manoj was at the shop and he served three Kulhads of Chai to the Prime Minister.
Manoj has the photos of Modi meeting Pappu the senior man. As soon as Modi left the tea shop, people came in large numbers to the shop for Chai and he had to keep it open till midnight.
Modi also had a pan in the shop nearby. The Pan Shop did not get enough customers, but the tea shop is busy even today. Modi is not that foody but he should have tea at least three times a day.
When Modi was on tour to Andhra Pradesh earlier along with Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan, he wanted Tea. He asked babu for tea and it was arranged by Rammohan Rao.
Modi can survive on Tea for any number of hours. He likes Poha also and he takes it as breakfast on daily basis. Modi also took his chef from Gujarat to Delhi.
Modi’s roadshow ended at Chowk, thousands of people gathered on both sides of the road between Godowlia and Lanka, when he left KVT to reach Banaras Hindu University gate.
When he stopped at Assi to enjoy tea, people also gathered there and started chanting Har Har Mahadev. More crowd gathered in Lanka area, where PM garlanded the statue of BHU founder Pt Madan Mohan Malviya.
