Prime Minister addressed the nation from Red Fort as India is celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on Sunday, marking the 75th year of freedom from British colonial rule.
This was PM Modi’s eighth Independence Day speech as Prime Minister since 2014.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday gave a call for ‘Sabka Prayas’ (everyone’s efforts) along with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ for building a self-reliant India.
Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 75th Independence Day, Modi said,
A hawk-eyed vigil will be maintained across the national capital on the 75th Independence Day with a multi-layered security cover in place at the historic Red Fort. Security forces are on high alert to thwart any untoward incident as police have intensified patrolling and deployed extra pickets at vital installations.PM Modi inspected the customary guard of honour at the Red Fort before hoisting the flag.
He was then greeted by defence minister Rajnath Singh, chief of defence staff General Bipin Rawat, army chief General MM Naravane, navy chief Admiral Karambir Singh and IAF chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria.
Modi was wearing a saffron Turban and a blue Modi jacket along with Kurta and Pyjama. When compared to the dressing on earlier Independence days this was not that impressive.
