Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought his own lunch to a public meeting that he addressed o at his constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, where elections will be held soon. Posting on social media an image of the Prime Minister sharing a meal with party men, the BJP commented: “Such equality is possible only in BJP”.
PM Modi addressed thousands of BJP workers at a large ground in the temple city. Everyone was reportedly asked to “bring their own tiffin”. The Prime Minister reportedly said he had also brought his own food, since “I am a karyakarta (party worker) too”.
Around 26,000 BJP workers attended the meeting.
PM Modi reportedly urged workers to relay the positive impact of the government’s notes ban decision to people and spread awareness about mobile banking. The people, he reportedly told the workers, are with the government on demonetization to fight black or untaxed money.
