The CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to ban the manufacture and sale of plastic, which is harming the environment and even putting the very existence of life in danger.
KCR said this will be discussed at the Cabinet meeting and instructions will be given. The CM has asked the officials to prepare guidelines for this.
The CM specially congratulated Pedapalli Collector Ms Devasena. Sangareddy Collector Sri Hanumanth Rao, Bhoopal Pally Collector Sri Venkateswarlu who received awards from the Centre for playing an active role in maintaining sanitation and village developmental works.
KCR said each Collector will be given Rs 2 Crore funds to spend the amount for taking up emergency works for the village development and sanitation works. He said the Collectors should spend this amount as per their discretion.
Special focus where there is less forestry
The CM suggested that Haritha Haram programme aimed at increasing the green cover in the State should be taken ahead with more strategy. He wanted special programme should be put in place in Karimnagar, Jangaon, Yadadri, Suryapet, Warangal Urban, Gadwal and Narayanpet and other such districts where there is less forestry.
Padayatra were conducted in 12,748 villages to identify the problems and issues, accordingly village annual plans were made. Annual plans are to be framed in three villages.
Gram Sabhas were conducted and Standing Committees were formed. In these Committees, 8, 20,727 members were elected. Of this, 4,03,758 were women members.
1,24,837 areas were identified for the removal of debris, garbage and works are done on 1,09,784 areas. This is (87.94 percent) of the works done.
2,77,657 areas are identified as the ones with unwanted trees, thorny bushes and works done at 2,67,535 places which is (96.35 percent).
