Delhi High Court has given an offer to the Citizens to get rid of the power theft cases. Even after getting free power to some extent, some of them are resorting to direct power tapping resulting in theft cases.
The High court he has suggested that if people want to come out of the power theft cases they must plant 50 saplings in the city. Not only that they must take care of the sapling for 6 months till they become small trees.
This offer in fact has become viral on the web. A man who tapped power directly for his shop was caught and the case was filed against him. But this shopkeeper did not take the offer of planting the saplings instead he paid about Rs 20000 fine to come out of the case.
He did not like the idea of planting the saplings. One month time would be given to the people for planting the saplings. But there is a mixed reaction for this offer. People are preferring fine over the tree plantation.
But the saplings planted should not be less than 50 and one less would also take you back to the jail and the case would be revived.
But this is bad on the part of citizens to resort to power theft as the Delhi government is giving free power to the people up to a level.
