More than 400 petrol pumps along with CNG outlets are closed today in Delhi and that it would continue till the next day up to 5am in the morning. The central government has reduced the fuel prices to some extent and the same was followed by some state governments also. But the Delhi government did not reduce the VAT .
Taking this into account the Delhi petrol dealers association has called for the closure of entire bunks in Delhi for a day. However, the Delhi CM Kejriwal has said that it was BJP sponsored closure. He said that the people would teach a lesson to the BJP in the coming elections.
On the other hand, the petrol prices were rising after the Karnataka elections and the BJP Government was unable to control them. Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi has been accusing the Government of not taking in interest in controlling the rates of fuel. Even the LPG prices are rising.
It looks like the rise in petrol prices would have the bearing on the coming elections of 4 states against the BJP. There are reports that the BJP may lose 3 states. The Telangana is in favour of the TRS according to the latest reports.
