The NDA government which has reduced the petrol rates to some extent is planning to bring down the rates further. The new plan is to see that petrol is sold at Rs 60 a litre and that will be implemented soon. The loss of 3 states has made all the difference and they know that it was because of price rise, demonetisation and GST. Now the corrections are made for GST.
Experts have been roped in to see that Methanol is mixed with petrol to reduce the rate. For this next machinery has to be added to the existing petrol bunks. The Methanol mixed petrol can be sold at Rs 60 and it will be beneficial for the consumers. The people are happy that the petrol rates which went high to Rs 80 have come down to some extent.
The Modi government is also planning to bring down the LPG rates and increase the subsidy thereby impressing upon the ladies. The think tank with Modi is of the opinion that these corrections will definitely give him the edge for the next elections. With Akhilesh and Mayawathi keeping the Congress at bay in UP, we can say that it is an advantage for the BJP in UP to some extent.
On the other hand, like the Telangana Government Modi is also planning to introduce welfare measures like giving financial help to the farmers directly into their accounts. This will address the rural distress and the BJP will benefit in the process.
