The Hill Shrine of Sri Venkateshwara at Tirumala was cleansed with a divine aromatic mixture, “Parimalam” for the upcoming mega religious event Vaikuntha Ekadasi.
The holy ritual commenced at 6am on Tuesday and lasted for about five hours.
The entire temple premises including sub-temples, puja materials, roofs, walls etc.were cleaned thoroughly by temple staff and a few officials. Finally, the sacred Parimalam is smeared everywhere.
The temple authorities of Sri Kodanda Ramalayam in Tirupati are gearing up for Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam for Vaikunta Ekadasi and Dwadasi on January 2 and 3 respectively.
On January 2 and on January 3, the darshan commences from 1:30am onwards till 10pm.The annual Teppotsavams in Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple will be observed between January 1 to 5 for five days.
On the first day, Sri Vinayaka along with Sri Chandrasekhara Swamy, second-day Valli-Devasena Sameta Sri Subrahmanya Swamy, on the third day Sri Somaskanda Swamy, fourth day Sri Kamakshi Ammavaru and on the last day Sri Chandikeswara Swamy and Sri Chandrasekhara Swamy will take a ride on the finely decked float in the temple tank.
On January 6, in connection with the Arudra Mahotsavam festival, Sri Nataraja Swamy, Sri Sivagaemi Ammavaru, Sri Manikyavasaga Swamy will be paraded along the temple streets between 5.30am and 8.30am.

As Vaikunta Ekadasi and Vaikunta Dwadasi are scheduled on January 2 and 3 respectively, Vaikunta Dwaram will be set up in the temple for the sake of devotees.
On January 2, on the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi day, the Bangaru Tiruchi procession will be observed between 8am and 9am while on January 3 on Vaikunta Dwadasi Chakrasnanam will be performed between 10 am and 11 am.
