There is a talk in the political circles that Asaduddin Owaisi the MIM Chief suggested Revanth Reddy the CM not to remove Charminar from the state emblem. It was Owaisi who prevailed upon the BRS government to put Charminar in the state emblem.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao, who visited Charminar to protest the government decision, said Charminar is synonymous with Hyderabad just as the Kakatiya Toranam is synonymous with Telangana.
It may be recalled that on Wednesday, senior BRS leader and former MP staged a protest at the Kakatiya Toranam at the Warangal Fort, demanding that the arch must remain in the emblem and that removing it will result in a legal battle.
Charminar has been a symbol of Hyderabad for hundreds of Years and it is not right to remove it from the state emblem.
It is right to discuss the issue in the state Assembly and before taking any decision.
The BJP is yet to react over the issue of Charminar. With MIM and BRS opposing the decision of Congress Government, it looks like they will retain Charminar in the Emblem.
