In the name of removing the black films and also stickers from the vehicles, the traffic police are imposing fines left and right. The Press stickers are also being removed by traffic police apart from giving a challan of Rs 700.
According to CLN Gandhi the former commissioner of RTA, there is no law against the stickers. The rule is that the vehicle owners should not put any stickers on the number plates.
But the police are removing the stickers from the domes of the two-wheelers and also the mirrors of the four-wheelers. The public is asking if the police have any right to use the stickers of the police on the vehicles.
While the people are paying the challans, on one hand, the Traffic police are imposing the fines on the other hand. The MLA and MLCs are authorised to use the stickers as they are issued by the Assembly.
In the same fashion, the police or the Information department must issue press stickers for the media people. There is no law where the police can impose fines for vehicle owners for using stickers.
Almost all the vehicles will have some sticker or the other. The Government must look into the issue immediately to avoid unrest among the vehicle owners.
