An orientation program on the Aspirational Districts and Blocks, CBC,and iGOT Karmayogi platforms was held for senior officers of Raj Bhavans from six states—Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala,Maharashtra, and Karnataka.
The session was graced by the presence of Governor Vishnu Dev Varma, who inaugurated the program and highlighted key aspects of the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP), a significant initiative launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
Reflecting on his experience in public service, Governor Vishnu Dev Varma cited his tenure as Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, where he oversaw transformative projects in the state’s remotest areas, such as the completion of the Ambasa to Gondatwisa power line project and the development of Bio-Villages 2.0.
These villages, he explained, represent a model of sustainable development that integrates eco-friendly practices like solar energy, biogas, and bio-fertilizers, contributing to both local resilience and the fight against climate change.
The Governor proposed expanding the program’s scope with the introduction of the “Aspirational Villages Development Programme” to ensure that essential services such as road connectivity, electricity, safe drinking water, primary education, and healthcare are available to all villages, fostering inclusive growth.
Shri Burra Venkatesham, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Governor, along with officers from NITI Aayog, CBC, and iGOT, attended the program apart from senior officers from all six Raj Bhavans.
