For the functioning of a democracy and for checking the Governance of an elected leader or government a right kind of opposition is a must. But when you come to the states of Andhra and Telangana there is no formidable opposition. Now under the BJP Tsunmai ,even at the centre it is only Modi and BJP that remained. The opposition is more or less being wiped out in the centre.
There should be someone to question and also find fault with the rulers, otherwise it will become a monopoly and a one way Government. When it comes to Telangana the opposition has failed miserably, and for KCR it is a cake walk all the way. The people are happy with his governance and the TRS Government has presented a welfare budget.
Even in Andhra Pradesh there is no Congress leader who got elected and the YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy is more or less behaving like Rahul Gandhi and getting chided in the process. Chandrababu is bulldozing in the state. On the other hand the case of vote for note is in the Supreme court as of now.
The BJP has now taken 4 out of the 5 states and in future they will get two more states . At the same time Modi is advocating one time election in the future .The elections for the Assembly and Parliament will be held at the same time may be from 2019 and the BJP is likely to get a land slide again. Then where will the opposition go. While Modi is talking about Congress Mukht Bharat, the people are asking for Rahul mukht Congress. Both could be a reality in the near future.
Rahul has proved beyond doubt that he is an iron leg for the Congress. May be it is time that the Congress comes out of the clutches of the Congress and the leaders try to build the party again from the grass roots. Lets hope the opposition survives in the states and also at the centre.
