Union Minister for Law Ravishankar Prasad has clarified in the parliament that he was open to suggestions and changes in the Triple Talaq law being enacted in the parliament. The bill was passed in parliament today.
The leaders of the opposition today said that the Law being brought in by the BJP government is not useful for the Muslim women.
MIM MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi opined that the Government did not bother to consult the opposition leaders while taking up the Triple Talaq law.
He objected to the way it was being presented in the Government for approval. The Bill should be sent to the select committee Asaduddin opined.
But Ravishankar said that the Government was open for debate and if needed to make changes in the proposed law. The Congress leaders want the Bill to be referred to the Joint parliamentary committee.
