Onion crop generally made the farmers cry. The farmers never got remunerative price for the produce. This time some of the farmers lost their Onion crop in the rain.
But one farmer by name Mallikharjun got a good production of Onion in his field and he has become a Crorepati. He has sold a tonne of Onion for Rs 7000. That means Rs 70 per Kg is the wholesale price.
When it comes to the real retail market it becomes Rs 120 easily. The cost of production to Mallikarjun was in lakhs and he repeated the benefit of more than a crore with the demand for Onion going up across the country.
He lost money in Onion crop several times. But this time he went for the Onion crop again to reap rich dividends. All the 20 acres he got a good crop of Onion and that changed his life for the good.
He got around 20 truckloads of Onion in single crop and he could give employment to hundreds of farmers for plucking the Onion from the fields and loading them to trucks some for the local market and some for the export market.
