The One Nation, One Poll is going to be a reality. The idea is to get one vote for the BJP MP in all the constituencies. The BJP believes that even if one vote goes to the local party the other vote will come to the BJP for the parliament seat by default.
This is also to reduce the anti-incumbency against the central Government.
“Special Session of Parliament that is the 13th Session of 17th Lok Sabha and 261st Session of Rajya Sabha is being called from 18th to 22nd September, having five sittings.
Amid Amrit Kaal looking forward to having fruitful discussions and debate in Parliament,” said parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi on T in a tweet, as he shared a picture of both the old and new buildings of Parliament well lit up.
With the government not spelling out its agenda, speculation swirled that the government may push some showpiece Bills in the run-up to some five state Assembly polls followed by the all-important Lok Sabha elections.
By January next year a new Government would be in place in the states and also at the centre. Earlier the centre said that the one nation one poll was not feasible this time, but all of a sudden and with the Karnataka election result in mind they want to go for an early poll.
