Doing Engineering is a waste these days. Unless and until one is an extraordinary student you will not get a job of Rs 50000 per month. Without a good career and salary no one is going to marry you. If it is male Btech graduate. The females now adays want goog earning grad.
If he is just a first class graduate then you end up exploited by the IT companes. These days good students from IITs and IIMs are coming out with great ideas and into business. Agriculture is becoming a main occupation for this highly qualifed peopel. They are earning a far better salary than the so called IT companies.
All India Council for Technical Education disclosed that over 60% of the 8 Lakh Engineering Graduates from Technical Institutions in the country are unemployed.
This situation contributes to the loss of 20 lakh man days per year. A B- Tech graduate is taken to an IT company by a middle broker in the name of recruiting agency and being paid a salary of just Rs10000 and harassed from time to time in the name of HR and evaluation.
As per the statistics, Less than 1% of Engineering Students enroll in Summer Internships. Whereas, National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited only 15% Engineering programmes offered by 3,200 institutions. These B tech grads are already a harassed lot by travelling to the outskirts for hours and coming to home by night in a college bus. 5 hours goes for traveling.
After studies the same 5 hours goes for travelling to hitech city in Hyderabad. A retired person working as a security guard near an ATM is earning more than these young engineering graduates.
Majority of the Engineering Graduates are unemployed. To address this issue, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry is going for a major revamp of Technical Education in the country.
From January 2018, A single National Entrance Examination will be conducted for Technical Institutions. Teacher Training Programme will be introduced and Institutions must take part in it for approval. Even Induction Training offered to Students is going to be mandatory. Revision of Curriculum will be done annually. It will be education with self sustaining process for the graduates.
