The BJP leadership has selected Om Biral for the post of the Lok Sabha Speaker. Birla is a two time MP from Rajasthan. He was a three-time MLA and now a parliament member. He could be filing the nomination papers today.
He started his career as a student leader and then worked for the BJYM. The names of Ahluwalia from West Bengal and also Radha Mohan Sing the central ministers name was also under consideration.
The final confirmation is yet to come from the BJP Higher-ups. On the other hand, the Congress is yet to name the leader for its party who would be the leader of the Opposition.
A strategy meeting of the Congress leaders was held at the Residence of Sonia Gandhi to chalk out the leader for the Congress party. For the time being it looks like there is no alternative to Rahul Gandhi’s leadership in the party.
